My very first newsletter! It felt so intimidating to click on the send button, but here it is: the beginning of a new adventure. 💌
For those of you who don’t know me yet: Hi, I’m Marie 🌼
I’m a French graphic designer and illustrator who loves creating, writing and bringing meaning to what I do.
At the start of September, I participated in my very first creators market.
Basically, I presented some of my illustrations alongside friends as well as other designers and artists. To be honest, I wanted to do something like that for a very long time. Being surrounded by so many talented creatives, and meeting curious yet genuinely interested people, made me realize a lot about what I want to develop in the future. I’m not saying I have everything figured out, but it definitely gave me a sense of hope.
One of the things it motivated me to start was actually this newsletter ‘Memo of Marie’. Thanks to this experience, I realized I wanted to connect more with people, share my creations more widely, and create memorable memories.
Unfortunately for me, my shyness often makes things feel more difficult than they really are soooo if speaking out loud isn’t my go-to right now, then I’ll just start by writing! 🤭
Over the years, I’ve always come back to writing. I think it started when I was young, with poems, a personal journal and writing about my holidays. Later came journaling, writing stories and fan fictions (it’s our little secret!) or I even once planned to create my own manga! More recently, for my graduation project, I decided to write and illustrate a children’s book. It’s not published yet, but maybe one day, who knows…
So yeah, it’s something I always practiced and naturally did on my own.

On a different note, I’m going to participate in the Inktober challenge!
For those of you who don’t know, during the month of October, you’re invited to create one drawing per day for 31 days each based on a different theme. This year, I’ll be following Grincheuse’s list!
I’ll try my best to keep up with as many days as possible! But since it’s my first time, I allowed myself to start a few illustrations just a little earlier to avoid too much pressure.
Also, as a small ‘gift’ for being among the very first subscribers to my newsletter, let me show you in advance the first illustration. The theme is Little house/hut.

To be completely transparent, I don’t exactly know how this new project will evolve. I will try, share my thoughts and doubts, talk about my passions and show you what I create. It’s like sharing a letter with you, or opening up my personal journal.
This newsletter is meant to be simple, authentic and heartfelt. I don’t want it to be perfect, I just want it to feel real.
It’s a way to share little fragments of my perception and my creative world.
So once a month, you’ll get a little something in your inbox. Sometimes just a letter, a sneak peek of what I’m working on, or some exclusive content!
